Have you ever wanted to get your own backyard getaway so you can focus on the activities and hobbies you love? While most people think of sheds as buildings for storage, they can also be great buildings to explore your hobbies and the interests that you love. With a little inspiration and work, you can convert your shed into a workshop, reading nook, or she shed.
Sharon’s Dream For a Shed
Sharon, a customer from La Grande, OR, recently purchased a custom combo shed/greenhouse from us. While this shed isn’t one of our standard shed models, we love working with customers like Sharon to make their dreams come true.
Sharon had a vision for a space where she could pursue her hobbies and relax. We merged two of our standard shed models into one structure to create a multi-use space that reflected Sharon’s interests perfectly.
A Cozy She Shed for Relaxation
If you’re new to the idea of a she shed, the concept is pretty simple. A she shed is basically a shed that’s been modified into hobby space or backyard getaway.
This beautiful shed/greenhouse combo is used both as a she shed and a potting shed for plants. The she shed area features farmhouse-style accents, such as exposed wood finished with a beautiful stain, giving it a cozy feel. The comfortable furniture makes it the perfect backyard getaway.
A Multi-use Workspace
In the greenhouse part of the shed, there are plenty of windows that allow in natural lighting, making a great environment for growing plants. With the added interior lighting and the addition of shelving throughout the structure, this greenhouse is the perfect place to get work done. With the added features, this section of the shed is essentially a multi-use space, useable for both tool storage and growing plants.
This space keeps the same rustic farmhouse theme with its beautifully finished exposed wood and other rustic accents.
In addition, this she shed in La Grande was modified by the customer with a few upgrades to better suit her needs. She removed part of the interior wall to install a sliding barn door, creating a seamless transition between the shed and greenhouse spaces. Furthermore, she equipped the structure with solar panels and wired it for electricity, adding an eco-friendly power source that makes the combo shed/greenhouse even more versatile and sustainable.
As an upgrade, we installed the LuxGuard glue-down flooring in the shed section to enhance durability and ease of maintenance. This premium flooring option provides a robust and stylish foundation for Sharon’s projects and storage needs, giving it long-lasting performance.
This she shed in La Grande is just one example of what you can do with a shed and some DIY spirit. From man cave sheds to using a shed to start a small business, the only limit is your imagination.
